Typography is an essential component of the brand identity system. A disciplined use of typographic standards helps maintain a strong and effective brand identity. Typography standards also add consistency to Cargill communications in all forms.
There are two font families that make up the typography standards of the Cargill brand identity:
- ITC Century Condensed (Light, Book and Bold)
- Helvetica Neue Condensed (Light, Condensed, Medium and Bold)

The preferred fonts — ITC Century Condensed and Helvetica Neue Condensed — should be used whenever possible, particularly for Typeset Uses, as described below. However, in some circumstances, because of the size or medium, the text may be more readable if you use the non–condensed versions of ITC Century and Helvetica Neue. More information about these fonts, including how to obtain them, appears below.
Typeset Uses
Typeset uses include all communications that are professionally printed or produced. Examples include customer brochures and collateral, advertisements, trade show displays, packaging, and stationery. Other than for foreign language translations, there are no acceptable substitutes for the approved Helvetica Neue and ITC Century fonts on professionally produced materials.
Alternate Fonts for Non–typeset Uses
Non–typeset uses include a variety of internal, employee–generated, and on–line communications. This includes web sites, PowerPoint presentations, forms, memos, invoices, and other documents. For these non–typeset uses, you may use the following alternate fonts, widely available on the Microsoft Windows Operating System. Arial can substitute for Helvetica Neue Condensed and Times New Roman can be used instead of ITC Century Condensed.
