Seven PowerPoint templates have been created to support the Cargill masterbrand identity system and are available in the Downloads section of this site. Each template provides a range of slide layout options, including cover, title, content, transition, and closing slides. The content slides include options for bullets only, bullets and chart, bullets and image, as well as a blank slide. The guidelines and illustration examples for Product Brand Levels 1 and 2 are the same as those for the Cargill brand.
  • Six of the templates have been created to reflect broad customer groups (Agriculture (Grain), Agriculture (Livestock), Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Products, Risk Management and Financial and Industrial) using industry–specific imagery.

  • The seventh template, referred to as the “General” template, incorporates imagery relevant to a wide variety of audiences. The General template can be used when the other options are not appropriate.

It is highly recommended that these templates be used for all new and existing presentations to ensure a consistent brand presentation.

Cover Slide
Each template includes a cover slide with images and colors relevant to the audience to help personalize the presentation. This slide can be projected prior to meetings, as guests are entering the room, or as a cover page to a printed presentation.

The cover slide should appear as it is in the template file. The images and colors in the cover slide template should not be replaced, removed or changed and text should not be added. Do not remove or alter the placement of the Cargill logo.

Title Slide
This slide provides the basic details of the presentation and lets the audience know it was prepared especially for them. The images in the title slide template should not be replaced, removed or changed. Do not remove or alter the placement of the Cargill logo.

If you would like to include a customer’s logo in your presentation, you should get their permission first. You should also request a .JPG file of their logo, so their identity is presented correctly.

Cargill Logo: Do not remove or alter the placement of the Cargill logo.

Content Slides
For continuity, each content slide is comprised of two main parts: the content area and the brand bar that runs along the bottom of the slide. The brand bar has been designed with the Cargill logo, pre–selected colors, images, page numbers and a text field. The text entered into this field will be repeated on each slide of the presentation and is intended for information such as Business or Function Unit name, or presentation title.

The images in the title slide template should not be replaced, removed or changed and additional text should not be added. Do not remove or alter the placement of the Cargill logo.

Headline: When creating a headline, use 32 point Arial flush left in space, as specified in the template.
Subhead: When creating subheads, use 20 point Arial Bold flush left in space, as shown in black.
Body Text: When creating body text, use 20 point Arial flush left in space, as shown in black.

A variety of slide layout options have been designed to assist in creating effective and dynamic presentations.

Transition Slide
A transition slide has been provided within the template to help organize the content of the presentation and highlight key points or messages.

Headline: When creating a headline, use 32 point Arial flush left in space, as specified. A larger size may be used for a one–word headline or a very short phrase.

Closing Slide
The closing slide can be used as a final slide in any presentation. It can be used as a stopping point or projected as a backdrop as needed during discussion following a presentation.

Cargill Logo: Do not remove or alter the placement of the Cargill logo.

Cargill PowerPoint Color Scheme
The Cargill PowerPoint color scheme has been programmed into each template. These colors are a permanent part of the template and will automatically be the first colors used to create fills in boxes, charts and graphs.

Additional colors have been selected to support the Cargill identity and have been programmed to be a part of the PowerPoint template. These colors will always be a part of the original template but will be deleted if colors other than these are selected.

Please be careful to select colors only from the Cargill PowerPoint color scheme.

Imagery
Imagery is a powerful tool to help create dynamic and effective presentations. If you include imagery in the content area of your slides, choose product and service imagery that is appealing and meaningful to our target audiences. And, since we have embraced a customer and solutions focus, it is important to illustrate how Cargill creates value by using images of people whenever appropriate.

Remember to select images that complement the color scheme and graphics in the template file and refer to the imagery section for other helpful tips and specific guidelines.

Typography
The recommended font for all Cargill PowerPoint presentations is Arial. Arial is available as a standard font on the Microsoft Operating System and will print on internal laser printers.

All text should be black. Font sizes and styles for subheads and body text have also been specified within the template.

Remember to keep the font and size consistent from slide to slide. Typographic elements that appear from one slide to the next should be placed on a uniform grid. Since PowerPoint slides are viewed in sequence, the type will appear to shift if it is not perfectly aligned from one slide to another.

Transitions and Sound
Transitions distract from the message of the presentation and should be avoided. Do not use any transitions or animation in association with the Cargill logo.

Sound should be used only when it is the most effective way to communicate a message (i.e., a clip from a speech). Never use sound in association with the Cargill logo.
